10/17/2021 0 Comments immersive van goghunrecognized geniuses and their legacy of lessonsToday I learned of yet another individual that lived a life unrecognized for their extraordinary talents. I headed up to Denver with my sister this morning to see the Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit. Essentially there are large spaces and mirrors and layers of projectors projecting the work of Van Gogh on the floor and on the ceiling in a moving sort of display. Paintings appear by brushstroke and parts of the paintings come to life in movement climbing up the wall and engulfing you inside of Van Gogh's creations. The accompanying music is a whole other character that adds to the experience. I walked away just wishing that I could experience more art in this immersive style. I was able to see the brush stokes and feel the mood and movement and get far more familiar with each of his works this way. I wonder if this sort of event will bring in a new and bigger crowd to the art world. It seems that way. I would like to see greater appreciation for the arts. It's part of building community culture. It's part of finding inspiration and being in awe of one another and having experiences with each other to connect. We can know each other and our world better through art. I learned a few notable things about Van Gogh today...
Van Gogh was an important reminder to me to shut off the noise of the outside world especially when it comes to creative endeavors. He was a reminder that anything done with love would be done well.
